French Tufted Bed | Teal Upholstered Carved French Bed Frame | EKAR FURNITURE
The Bleu de Provence French Rococo Tufted Bed reimagines classical French bedroom style in a soft, modern palette that feels calm, fresh, and deeply inviting. Instead of the heavy golds and deep woods often associated with antique French furniture, this bed pairs a warm cream lacquered frame with a rich, dusty teal upholstered headboard—a color inspired by the lavender fields and shutters of Provence. The gracefully arched headboard is generously padded and button-tufted in a neat diamond pattern, creating a soft, textural surface that looks as good as it feels to lean against. At the crown, an ornate hand-carved flourish crowns the arch, adding just enough rococo detail to feel traditional without tipping into over-the-top formality.
Every Bleu de Provence bed is built by EKAR FURNITURE's skilled artisans using time-honored woodworking techniques. The frame is constructed from solid, kiln-dried hardwood, chosen for its stability and resistance to warping across changing climates. The cream lacquer is applied by hand in multiple thin coats, sanded between each layer to achieve a smooth, furniture-grade finish that feels soft under the fingertips. The headboard is padded with high-density foam and wrapped in a durable, soft-touch woven fabric in that distinctive dusty teal—rich enough to make a statement, muted enough to pair easily with a wide range of wall colors and bedding. The carved crown detail at the top of the headboard is sculpted by hand and finished in the same cream tone, with subtle highlights that bring out every curve and leaf.
This bed transforms a bedroom into a restful retreat with a distinctly French sense of style. In a master suite, it pairs beautifully with soft white or cream bedding, layered with a few patterned throw pillows in complementary blues and neutrals. It sits perfectly against a wall painted in soft sage, warm greige, or creamy ivory, letting the teal headboard be the room's natural focal point. The Bleu de Provence bed also feels right at home in a guest bedroom, a vacation villa, or a boutique hotel room designed for travelers who want to wake up somewhere beautiful. It works with both light, airy bedrooms and cozier, more traditional spaces, acting as a versatile anchor that designers can build around.
